Cenotes within Cave System 1- Cenote Alhambra
Cenote Location Go to the Playa Aventuras (DIF) entrance, Go west through gate on dirt road for the Actun Chen dry cave and drive approximate 1.0 kilometers to the power lines, Turn left and follow trail 200 meters to the first power line tower, Park vehicle and follow trail 50 meters to the cenote
Accessibility Moderate, Must step down from upper rim of cenote and negotiate a short distance of rocks and dip under the ledge, Watch out for wasps
Cave Description Big cavern entrance with wide opening. Follow mainline upstream
Best Dives Main line, At 700 feet/212 meters is first, huge room named The Monolith. Near the end of the main line a 100 foot/30 meters section of rock collapsed and buried the guideline. A by-pass line goes around it; interesting to look at.
